Purpose

The Microsite delivers a solution to how Dow approaches microsites by enabling unique branded customer experiences to be designed and built directly on Dow.com.

This new AEM capability offers a menu of options so a microsite experience can be created quickly out of the box by an in-house build team, addressing speed concerns, or completely customized for a more interactive experience. Extra design options for components include parallax effects, full-page imagery and carousels with animation and video.

Unlike an external microsite, the microsite template is rooted on the domain of Dow.com. As a result, it adheres to the Dow Digital CX Design System guidelines – providing access to key site capabilities (i.e. My Account, Contact Us, global navigation menu, etc.) and matching fonts, heading styles, buttons and link styles. Staying on domain also enables consistent analytics tracking because of integration with Dow’s Adobe Analytics.

There is also an option to build out subpages within the microsite, depending on the depth of the information. This allows businesses to create more content and organize it in a thoughtful, user-friendly way.

Before using the microsite capability, clearly define a target audience and meaningful page purpose. The content should not be duplicative of anything that already exists on Dow.com or that could be incorporated within the standard taxonomy webpages.
